So I tailgated for the first time this past Sunday, woo-hoo! University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors vs. Oregon State’s Beavers. A friend of ours, Jason, grabbed up some tickets for their last game of the season. A madhouse. A sold out crowd converging upon Aloha Stadium, all at once vying for their very own $5 plot of parkingland. The game was a good one though, lasting up until the very last second, and although the Warriors were defeated in the end they did grind on the Beavers…

With a looming storm all day…

the three of us grilled some brats, burgers and beers. Believe it or not it barely rained a drop, a total tease. We even bought some UH plastic ponchos from the “Rain-boutique” (cute). It was pretty breezy, and I thought mine kept me kinda warm, but the boys finally gave up on having to decide when to put them on and take them off.

Hawaii rocks forsure… They gave the first however many fans Ti leaves to cheer with. They were quite possibly the coolest thing ever. After shaking them around for a few the ends began to fray making these groovy organic pom-poms. We still have ours in a vase with water, ha haa… they look more like corn stalks now
